What we make
xtrenchrungame.app is the site behind our version of X Trench Run. The product is a single-player arcade game: steer a starfighter through the openings in oncoming walls, shoot out laser gates and turrets, survive recurring boss fights, and fly as far as you can while the trench speeds up.
We are not an app-store publisher and there is nothing to download. The game is the website. That keeps load times short, works on phones and desktops alike, and avoids an account wall. Best scores, distances, and lifetime totals live in local browser storage on your device.
If you are comparing this to another X Trench Run site, this page only speaks for xtrenchrungame.app. The controls, scoring, and power-ups described in our how-to-play guide and FAQ match this exact build.
Our story
The trench run is one of the oldest ideas in action games. We treat that as a responsibility to keep the familiar rules intact and make the friction as close to zero as we can.
Flying a fighter down a narrow canyon of metal while guns fire from the walls is one of science fiction’s best-known set pieces, made famous by the 1977 film Star Wars. Arcade games picked it up almost immediately: Atari’s 1983 Star Wars cabinet ended each wave with a vector-graphics trench sequence, and the “trench run” has been a genre of its own ever since.
The browser game known as X Trench Run appeared on HTML5 game portals in 2019 and became a staple of school-friendly game sites. Its formula is simple and sticky: an endless trench, walls with gaps, laser gates you shoot open, turrets, a recurring boss, three power-ups, and scoring of 1, 5, 5, and 50 points.
xtrenchrungame.app is an independent, from-scratch take on that formula. The rules and scoring are the ones players know; what is new is a canvas renderer with no plugins or iframes, touch steering that never hides the ship under your thumb, optional auto-fire, pause that respects tab switches, synthesized sound with a real mute, and a saved pilot record.
What we stand for
Open the page and the trench is already scrolling. No account wall, no download, no splash video — one press of Launch and you are flying.
Openings are outlined in cyan, shootable targets glow amber, and anything red hurts. Turrets flash before they fire. When a run ends, it is because of a choice you made, not something you could not see.
Best score, best distance, longest flight, and lifetime totals live on your device. We do not hold your record hostage behind a login, because there is no login.
The whole game is free. No energy meters, no continues for sale, no interstitial video between runs — Fly again is one keypress away.
Who it is for
xtrenchrungame.app is a family-friendly, single-player game with no chat and no store. A poor fit if you want multiplayer or a long campaign; a good fit if you want the X Trench Run you remember, fast and fair, on whatever screen is nearby.
A run lasts from thirty seconds to several minutes. X Trench Run is built for a quick break on a phone or a browser tab between tasks, and restarting is instant.
Speed tests your hands, but the real skill is choosing a line early. Players improve quickly once they start looking two walls ahead.
Your record stays on the device you played on. That is a deliberate trade: instant play and real privacy, with no cloud restore.
Why this site
Trench-run games are everywhere online. This one exists to ship a single honest, fast version — familiar rules, controls for every device, and no clutter.
Arrows or WASD with Space or click to fire on desktop; drag-to-steer, a big fire button, and auto-fire on touchscreens. The game fits on a phone screen without scrolling.
Switch tabs, lose window focus, or scroll the game away and the run pauses itself. Press P, Esc, or Resume to continue exactly where you were.
No auto-playing video, no fake download banners, no dark patterns. The how-to-play guide and FAQ describe this exact engine — every number on those pages matches the game.
How we build
The game runs entirely on the web: fast loads, drag / tap / keyboard controls, and progress that stays local unless you clear your browser data. We use lightweight analytics to see what helps players — never to gate the game behind a profile. The engine on the home page is the one described on our rules pages, so search results and the live game never drift apart.
Phone, tablet, and desktop share one flight view. Steer with arrows or WASD, fire with Space or a click, or drag-to-steer with a fire button on a touchscreen.
Best score, best distance, longest flight, and lifetime totals are stored locally. You own the continuity of your record without signing up.
We watch aggregate usage through Google Analytics to improve pacing and polish. Details are in our Privacy Policy — never as a sales pitch.
